Contractors and trades. Trades people are sometimes referred to as tradesmen or craftsman, and a tradesman is a skilled worker in a particular trade or craft. In 1918, the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) is was founded through the efforts of the United States of America President Woodrow Wilson who recognized the need for such a body to work with the construction industry and government for the benefit of the United States. Today, the infrastructure of the is largely to the benefit of AGC members and their chapters.
